Anthony Petrello’s Journey to Success at Nabors Industries and his Philanthropy Work

Anthony Petrello currently serves as the CEO, President and Chairman of the Board of Governors at Nabors Industries Ltd. The business, which was initially known as Anglo Energy, began its operations in 1968 as a small energy firm. The firm has its headquarters in Hamilton, Bermuda. It is one of the most prominent oil, geothermal and natural gas drilling firms. Today, the business has operations in more than 25 countries spread across various continents including America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Anthony was born in Newark, New Jersey. He is very well learned and holds a J.D. degree obtained from Harvard Law School. Anthony also has a degree in Mathematics which he got from Yale University. Besides, Anthony graduated from Yale University with a master in Mathematics. Anthony started his career in 1979 by working at law firm known as Baker& McKenzie. Due to his exemplary performance, he got promoted to work at the firm’s New York Office as a Managing Partner.

Anthony quit the job and went to Houston. In 1991, he joined Nabors Industries as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. Again, Anthony showed outstanding performance thereby earning him promotion after promotion. In 2003, he became deputy Chairman of Nabors Industries’ Board of Directors. In 2011, Anthony became the CEO and President of the company and finally the Chairman of the Board as well a year later. Besides his engagements at Nabors Industries, he also serves as the Director of both Stewart & Stevenson, LLC, and Texas Children’s Hospital.

Anthony’s brilliant leadership qualities have guided Nabors Industries to unmatched success in the oil industry. Nabors is an undisputed leader in the sector because of Anthony’s ability to adapt to changing times in the industry. He has developed unique strategies that have helped Nabors Industries stay at the top.

As a philanthropist, Anthony is committed to uplifting the living standards of the Texas population. Together with his wife, Cynthia, they have given a lot to charity. They recently gave out a $5 million grant to Texas Children’s Hospital to help the Neurological Research Institute. They further promised an additional $2 million to be given to the health facility soon. The couple is very dedicated to finding a cure for neurological complications because their eight-year-old daughter, Carena, was diagnosed with a neurological disorder just after birth and has developed cerebral palsy.
